This skimmer is working great. I put it together placed it in the tank and 3hrs later it was pulling junk out of my Water. It has a small foot print and easy to take apart. So far so good.

I am running a 75 Gallon tank with a wet/dry sump with a Marineland 100 skimmer. In my 55 gallon FOWLR I was running a wet/dry sump with a Corallife Super Skimmer and was having a lot of trouble with it continuing to leak. I finially had enough so since the Marineland 100 skimmer was doing a ok job, at least I thought it was, I ordered the Bubble Magus Curve 5 to place in my 75 gallon and move the Marineland 100 to my FOWLR. When I received my Bubble Magus, I installed it and moved my Marineland, what a difference. Within 24 hours it was already pulling out dark green gunk and the water is so much clearer. I would recommend the Bubble Magus skimmer, great buy. I am going to get another one for my FOWLR.

I ordered and just received this unit, to replc a ASM G1X that is rated upto 150g. Which was in a 60g cube reef, worked perfect for that tank. I upgraded to a 150 60x24x24 and the ASM was over working.
The curve 9 is a very nice looking unit, instructions are NOT user friendly and could written better.
Pro's: so far nice looking, great that it can be taken apart to clean.
it's to soon to tell on it's full function as it's only a few hrs old, will have to update this review later.
Con's: it's a bit noisy, much more than the ASM G1X was the G1X was silent the curve 9 I can hear in the next room. It came with only 2 rubber feet instead of the required 4 so it rocks back N forth I had to take other 2 feet off for it to sit level that's BS to me!!
I spent 400.00 for it to be that noisy and missing parts. And of course one has to email for cust-support no ph# so this will take for ever to get replied to. So will see how it goes.

This is for the Curve-9. First the bad, the pump is rather noisy, but its only been running a few day and may "break in, calm down a little. Since I've only had the Skimmer running for a few days, The same can be said about performance, It needs to Break in before I can give a good review. But I will be sure to update in a few weeks after Its had time. BUT I am impressed with this unit, It has a small footprint for its size, and it makes a ton of Bubbles. I am confident in its ability. I have on a 225 gal reef mainly LPS. The instructions are incoherent, badly translated, but the picture diagram on the back is all you need, Its very easy to assemble, and is very easy to disassemble for cleaning, that's maybe it biggest selling point. Theses a second hole on the body that has a red plug. Iv'e read this is for upgrading the pump, and or changing the orientation of the pump, possible to make it fit in ones sump better. I'm not sure statement is correct, and I'm' not sure what the actual spec of the pump are. I would be interested in upgrading the pump later if the noise level stays and there's a better alternative. If I make those changes I will be sure to share results.
Thanks-

This is a great skimmer. I upgraded this from the reef octopus (also a great skimmer) but this one has some features that I like and believe makes this better then the reef octopus:
1. Super quite
2. The skimmer body can be dis-assembled making it easier to clean and all parts can be cleaned, unlike the reef octopus you can not reach some areas of the skimmer body to clean it
3. Super easy settings, 5 settings from min-1 thru 3-max
4. Skimmer body can be dis-assembled and re-assembled to place in tight openings. I have a truvu tank which I converted into a sump, the tank opening is small, but with this skimmer, I can dis-assemble and place items in the sump and reassemble inside the sump
5. Gives you the option to place the pump in 2 different position
I would definitely recommend this skimmer. It's powerful and affordable skimmer.

Let me start by saying I have a super bio loaded fish coral tank 120 gal. I started my system with a marine land 300,dont waste your money. After battling alge of every type I purchased bubble mag 7 cone in all respects ,best investment ever! All alges are gone, back to a prestine reef. thanks bubble magnus for a truly quality product.
