I bought this product for my fish tank. I was looking for a way to lower my carbonate/alk which was about 286 on average in the tank. I had a TDS level of 160-200 out of the faucet. by adding salt/ph buffer and other additives my carbonate became too high. This product has been giving me a near zero (0) level of TDS that now gives me a carbonate/alk of 160-200 where I need it to be depending on my salinity and additives. this product is at a great price and does the job.

It works although it is slow. I haven't had the chance to have the filtered water tested to see how effective the unit is. The biggest problem is that it came without directions on how to put the filter in. I hope I did it correctly. Otherwise, I am satisfied with its performance.

I recieved the unit in find shape and on time. It's performance is as advertised. The only minor complaint would be that it came with no instructions as to hook it up. As a first time user of an R.O. unit I needed to ask a friend that is familiar with them for help. Very simple if you know about them but confusing the first time. Overall, I am very pleased.

I like it because it saves me a lot of time from driving and buying water. It does what it says and I think it produces more than 35 GPD. Love it.

i bought this product because it seemed like the least expensive genuine RO filter i could find. i use it to purify water for plants and my aquarium.
The product delivered as advertised, though i think i would have to keep it going 24 hours a day to get 35 gallons. i tested the purified water with a ECM meter and was happy to get an EC reading of just 23 (and i'm sure part of that was due to contamination of the bucket). An EC reading of 23 translates into about 15ppm, which is pure enough for my purposes.
i have never had an RO filter before so i don't know what the "average" product to waste ratio is, but this machine seems rather high. for every gallon of RO water made, three gallons come out of the waste tube. that means that to make 100 gallons of RO water, i will pour another 300 gallons down the drain. like i said, i don't know what the average is, but this seems awfully wasteful and inefficient, and it will add considerably to my water bill..
though the Captive Purity 35 works, i doubt i would buy another

I got this unit after a friend of mine recommended me the website and the brand, the size is perfect for the people that don't have too much room to spare, super easy to install, you just need to cut the tubes and add a couple of valves to the system (if you want add a pressure gauge to be sure the system runs 100%)...The water quality is great, I get 3 ppm (some times I get 0 ppm) on the water test.I will recomend this unit to people that is starting on marine aquarium or people that have any other hobby that require real quality water to keep going.
