DT`s Live Marine Copepods

This subtropical copepod species will develop a thriving population in reef aquariums.

They are a small and very nutritious prey item with an adult size of ~ 900 microns that are food for many corals and small fish.

Copepods are an excellent scavenger, feeding on phytoplankton and detritus of any kind.

In order to preserve the nutritional value of the Copepod, this product must be shipped via Next Day delivery. Shipping and handling charges is $24.99 (free shipping promotion does not apply). This charge covers the shipping, ice pack, and styrofoam box charge.

Comments: The package was still good and cold when I got it. I followed the instructions for getting to room temp before adding it to the sump. I observed no more than 10% increase in activity after 24 hours, but added it anyway. I have observed the sump every day for the past week and no noticible increase in activity. I hope it was just my batch; who knows?

Disappointed again

Comments: Well, what a waste of 80.00 +. Out of the 4 jars of DT's copepods, one was absolutely dead and lifeless. I don't want to hear how microscopic they are, because I already know that. This is the 3rd retailer who has sent me a jar of dead slime that was "harvested" on Jan. 6. As for the other 3, they were slightly newer, (jan 19) but the population was nowhere near what it should have been....Yes, they are tiny, but you can see a lot of them, except in this case, where I saw maybe 6 -10 in one jar and far less in the other two. As much as these things cost, it's ridiculous, meanwhile, my poor mandarin is starving..... Very frustrated.....

Very little copepods

Comments: I bought three containers of DT's Live Marine Copepods and when they arrived all three containers had little to no copepods in them. I know that pods are small but there were none/very few pods in all the three containers I bought. It would have been smarter and cheaper to remove some copepods from my systems and grow them in a separate system.

Nothing happened

Comments: I realize that these are little guys but I saw absolutely nothing on the tank glass even two weeks later. I added another 6oz jar and still nothing. I'm a little disappointed because the shipping is high due to the nature of the product and I was told that I would start to see the little guys after a week or so.

Food for scooter

Comments: Excellent, if the directions are followed to prepare them for their transfer to the aquarium they will thrive in your tank! I placed two containers in a 75 gallon tank that was established for a few years with plenty of amphipods.The first day I saw a few on the walls of the tank. After a few days they seemed to be all over the place. My scooter loves going up and down the tank walls looking for these little guys.
