This light is a workhorse. I've got 2 of the 6500k on my sumps and I harvest my chaeto twice monthly. I've even dropped them in the water and they still work. Yeah, they attach via suction cup, but if you clean your glass, wet the cup and apply pressure while clamping you won't have any problems. I recommend these lights without hesitation.

Light works great on my home made 10g refugium/sump. Perfect size. I hesitated buying because of the mixed reviews about the suction cup, but mine is working fine for me. It is very important to have a clean surface on the tank/refugium, you must remove the film on the suction cup, and then clean the suction cup, I used glass cleaner. you must also press down on the suction cup with the flexable part, and at the same time press the lever to pull the suction tight. The lever will be hard to press down when a good suction is made, and it should never come off the tank.

I think the light is ok.The problem i had is with the clamp. The suction cup failed after 5 minutes. The light could have ended up in the water. Its a good thing its only 12 volts.

I have 2 of these on seperate QT tanks. After a few months the suction gave out on one and found it floating in tank. Luckily I had it unplugged. Customer support sent me a new one very quick which was nice. But a week later my other light was floating in tank. I installed them correctly. The second one that fell in tank was on a painted back tank. So not sure if that is a no no. But the first was not. Not happy.

This light is amazing! I have one on my fuge and the cheato is growing very well! I previously had the JBJ NanoGlo, and the cheato was bearly surviving, after 1 month with this light and the cheato needs to be trimmed! This is cheaper and better than the JBJ light, there is also more flexibility with positioning and no magnet inside the tank!
TYhe only issue is that the suction cup is fix, and it should have been on a ball joint.

Suction cup stuck well. The long arm is a double edged sword if space is tight. Stays in place well and never worried about if falling in. Plug is a small df adapter which is great when you have 10 things to plug in under tank.
I'm wary of LEDs that are less than 3W but was shocked when my sump was covered in a thick layer of coraline algae after a month. Macro Algae was growing great. Mushrooms were open and happy. Very impressive little light. The only thing better (and by better I mean cheaper) would be a DIY 660nm LED.

I was excited to receive this lamp for my 30 gal. sump/refugium. The light output was great when I plugged it in. However, mounting this little beast is next to impossible. When I saw it I knew I was in for trouble. The mounting device is just like one I had for my GPS in my car--a suction cup with lever. It is hard to apply and it won't stay affixed to the glass. Yes. I did clean the glass before mounting. I even used industrial strength velcro strips to secure it. That would a little better. It stayed in place for about 48 hours. This morning the lamp was in the water. Thank God it is low voltage. Get a model with a true clamp.

For what I paid this is not a bad light. Puts out plenty of light and with almost no heat. The clamp is really strong as I have smacked the light once or twice moving things around and it hasn't budged. Wish the neck was maybe 4-6 inches longer so it would reach more the middle of my 40 gallon breeder refuge but it works as is. Also surprised at how small the unit is. Picture makes it look bigger but it throws out a lot of light regardless. A good buy in my book so far, now I just need to see how long it lasts (not the LEDS I know they last a long time).

ease of set-up. able to adjust to what works for your set-up/refugium and is bright. The zoos I have in refug. opened way up and colors are popping. A great design. cons. Arm is alittle stiff. Notice: clean surface where you want to attach and remove protective film from suction cup. A quality product. I have not had long enough to see if kayto takes off growing but think it will.
