REACTION 4-STAGE
Mechanical + Chemical + Biological + UV Sterilization
Reaction 4 stage canisters are the latest innovation in high capacity filtration systems. This revolutionary canister filter incorporates high media storing capacity with easy to remove basket trays, self priming lever, quick disconnect shut off valve for convenient media replacement, and an intergraded IV sterilizer with On/Off witch that polishes water to crystal clarity while keeping pathogens at bay.
COMPREHENSIVE FILTRATION
Reaction 4 Stage Canister filters utilize mechanical, chemical, biological, filtration, and IV sterilization for a balanced aquarium.
Water enters the canister via the intake strainer and is guided through a large sponge to trap particulate matter.
The water then reaches 500g of activated carbon to remove harmful dissolved organic compounds.
Water is directed over the ceramic rings that offer a tremendous amount of surface are internally and externally to grow beneficial aerobic bacteria that break down harmful ammonia and nitrate and nitrite.
All filtered water then passes through our powerful UV-C lamp for pathogen and green water elimination.
ADVANCED FEATURES
Reaction 4 Stage Canister Filters are equipped with the most advanced features to provide high performance and make routine maintenance quick and easy.
Integrated Self Priming Lever
Quick Disconnect Shut Off Valve
On/Off Switch for UV-C Germicidal Lamp
High Capacity Media Storage
INTEGRATED SELF PRIMING LEVER Our innovated self priming lever eliminates the need for manual siphoning. Simply, pump the lever up and down vigorously until the water enters the inlet and the remaining air bubbles leave the outlet.
QUICK-DISCONNECT SHUT OFF VALVE
Definitely the most useful feature to keep floors dry when carrying out routine monthly maintenance
The Quick Disconnect Shut Off Valve is an integrated tool that instantly creates a watertight seal that stops water from entering or exiting the filter.
Simply lift the SHUT OFF VALVE handle to the vertical position to stop water flow.
Grab the handle and detach and take the canister filter for convenient media replacement.
ON/OFF SWTICH FOR UV-C GERMICAIDIAL LAMP
This revolutionary concept integrates a special UV-C lamp to destroy green water and polish water to crystal clarity.
The accessible ON/OFF switch allows for complete user control
HIGH CAPACITY MEDIA STORAGE
The new trend in canister filters is to increase the filter storing capacity for larger amounts of chemical and biological medias.
This allows for higher water quality due to more media contact through the initial pass. All filter baskets have convenient handles for removing and loading up all types of media that can be easily customized.

Good size with lots of room for filtration substrates. Very EZ to setup and service.
I am using this unit on a 55 Gal tank. Unit primes as advertised and runs very quiet. No external leaks. States Flow Rate: 290gph. Seems much less than that. After 4 days the tank was still not clear and the low flow was not sucking up particulates very well.
On the 5th day I was shocked. Literally! the water had a slight electrical charge to it. Unplugged the unit and after some searching I found the UV light unit full of water up to the wires inside the top of the unit and the glass cracked. Took the whole unit apart and dried wires the and put it back together. Everything works but I now need to replace UV glass.
Doubt I will trust this filer on its own now.. I am going to try and waterproof the electrical system from the water system via silicon in case it backs up again. I will use this as a secondary filter but look elsewhere for my primary filter system.
The EFU-45v seems more apt for smaller tanks with such a low flow rate. 40 gal or less.
Pros
Ez setup
Ez substrate changes
Very low noise
Cons
Low flow rate
Electrical system not well protected from water

Impossible to prime, had it for about a year. when I first installed it I broke a piece off the priming stick. Its a plastic stick like 4mm thick. a year later, tonight, I was replacing the media and it started leaking, then I broke another piece of the priming stick off and water shot throughout my kitchen. Dont buy

Glad I read reviews prior to installing this. It helped a lot. Initially it leaked like a seive but I remembered reading that the lid has to be seated 'just so', or this would be an issue. Reseated lid, no more leaks. Have a 75 gallon tank but bought the filter rated for 100 and glad I did. Doesn't seem to move the same volume of water as my other filter but the tank was clearing up within hours of installation. Don't like the tubing contraption with the holes (neither did my Oscar) so I removed it. So far am pleased with the performance. Be sure and purchase extra media with the filter. Oh, and it is very quiet......

Nice filter but it has very low flow rate. To small for a 50gal tank. Had to add a second filter.

I have used this filter 1yr and half. There were many issue. Each parts does not have enough strength. Pump Rod is easy to break. Most critical point is weak sealing around Pump Rod. If water leaks from there, water will reach wirings of UV lamp area. Some of wires are not sealed for water proof, so current will leak to tank. Also, sealing gasket for UV lamp cover is weak against UV, too. Water will leak from there to inside of UV lamp.
It works, but I can't recommend this product.

Very easy to put together, plenty of space for filter media. Worth the price. Highly recommended. Cleaned up my 30 gallon tank in two days and I am sure that my fish are happier now they have the extra filtering going on.

This filter is absolute garbage. I got my unit a few months ago and immediately installed it. The filter is simple enough to install and set up. I turned on the unit and pumped the water through it. Then it was like hoover dam was starting to spring leaks. Little trails of water were coming out from each side of the unit. I turned it off, reseated the canister lid, and tried again. It didn't leak for roughly 30 seconds and then started up again. I had JBJ send me a replacement and then basically sent me the lid. JBJ's customer service is top notch btw. I have nothing against them. I get the new lid in and install it. This one leaks more than the other one. I'm now out $130 and about to buy an Eheim which I should have done in the first place.
