Type:
Marine Supplement

1oz
Description:
A highly-concentrated suspension of Nannochloropsis, Tahitian Isochrysis, and Tetralselmis, contains over 12 billion cells per ml (~1.2 billion cells per drop). Rich in EPA, DHA, and amino acids for maximum benefit to marine invertebrates. Size range of phytoplankton (2-15 µm collectively) is optimal for feeding a wide range of filter-feeders. Properly preserved, contains no alcohol; Requires no refrigeration or freezing!
Directions:
Add 1 drop (0.10 ml) per 50-gallons to an 8-oz. container of aquarium water, stir, and add this to the aquarium every other day. Observe reaction of aquarium residents over 8-weeks and adjust dosage accordingly thereafter. In heavily stocked reef aquariums, the dosage will likely need to be increased, however take care not to overfeed. As with any food, monitor water quality closely after feeding. Read Use & Interaction (opposite) for additional information.
Considerations for use:
Kent Marine PhytoMax presents advanced reef hobbyists with a super-concentrated suspension of whole, unicellular phytoplankton for a broad range of filter-feeding invertebrates. PhytoMax is composed of three species of phytoplankton with a size range of 2-15 µm collectively, conducive to feeding SPS corals, sponges, clams, scallops, bryozoans, tunicates, sea fans, filter-feeding sea cucumbers, and many annelid worms such as feather dusters and Christmas tree worms.
PhytoMax comprises one part of the Kent Marine Advanced Reef Care (ARC) regimen. Using this product in conjunction with ChromaMax and ZooMax, advanced reef hobbyists are able to provide an economical simulation of the natural variety of plankton available to filter-feeders, hence providing a more natural environment and proper nutrition to these organisms in captivity. When using with other foods, alternate use of products every other day or decrease dosage by half (if using two products) or one-third (if using three products) and dose every other day.
Active Ingredients:
Nannochloropsis, Tetraselmis and Isochrysis sp. tahitian (All aquacultured, naturally occuring marine phytoplankton.) citric acid.
Precautions:
Not for human consumption. Keep out of reach of children!

After just an hour or so in the water, it fuels algae growth in my tank. My corals don't seem any different with it. Kent has some great products for reef tanks but with this one, save your money and go with DT food.

After hearing about Phyto from all the other reefers & LFS, I don't know why I slept on this product. My corals are eating well now and I've noticed a polyp increase/extension. It took a little dosing adjustment to keep from growing nuisance algae but it was easy to establish.
