I ordered this new probe to replace my old one, which failed after about 4 years.
The new one seems to be working fine but it would have been nice if it had arrived already calibrated.

It replaced my old probe that came with the controller about 4 years ago. This piece looks much better built. I had to only adjust sensor by 0.5 degrees. The only down side is the shipping costy of such a small simple piece. It could fit inside a large bubble lined envolope instead it came in a 24"x24"x24" box. Marine depot could save on shippig costs and waste in the landfill. Other wise a solid piece to replace my old temp probe

Works very well. Larger than the old version but seems better. Cord is plenty long enough and probe is well calibrated.

Worked great! Looks much better that the original that came with my AquaController 3. I've only had it for two weeks so lets hope it lasts longer than the original.

The unit I recieved must be a newer version than I got with my ACJR. Works perfectly, but had to be calibrated, it was reading about 10 degrees F below what actual temp was.

This is my second replacement probe since I got my controller 2 years ago. This one seems way nicer, bigger but sturdier. We'll have to see how long this one lasts though.

I am giving this product a one star review based on the fact that I am on my third one in the 2 years I have owned the AC Jr. I have had to replace them at the begining of each year. While this may not seem like a big deal to some; I have had to wait weeks each time I order as no one ever has these in stock. On top of that they are thirty dollars a pop while my $10 coralife digital themometer is still working after 5 years.
They have changed the design so I am crossing my fingers that this one will be more reliable. If not I think I may check into the RK2.

I would like this probe better if it had been provided through a warranty. My original probe lasted a whopping four months before beginning to bounce from 70 to 100 degrees. Can you imagine what this does to lighting, heating, cooling, etc?
I found out Neptune had a killer "90" days warranty on these probes. Not exactly a sterling endorsement from the product maker. If you do a search on Reef Central, you will see quite a few have problems with some temperature probes. I would give serious consideration to another brand of controller due to this issue and the manufacturers poor warrant.
I got lucky and didn't lose anything that I know of due to this problem; others weren't as fortunate.
