NO3:PO4-X Contains a unique complex of carbons that are used by nutrient-reducing bacteria. Each carbon is utilized by different strains of microorganisms while maintaining the specific Carbon: Nitrogen: Phosphorus ratio required for each stage. The complex includes other organic bonded elements that are important stimulators in each stage of the reduction process. These metal and non-metals elements ensure steady bacterial propagation and complete nitrate reduction to nitrogen gas and the absorption and utilization of phosphate by the bacteria.
The fine control of the nitrate and phosphate levels provided by monitored dosing of NO3:PO4-X guarantees the gradual changes and accurate maintenance of the nutrient levels, preventing destruction of the zooxanthellae population that can cause UV shock and starvation of the corals.
Unlike some other low-nutrient regimes, correct use of NO3:PO4-X will maintain all of the beneficial micro fauna.
NO3:PO4-X is also recommended as a complete carbon source for use with carbon based de-nitrators.
NO3:PO4-X, available in 500ml and 1000ml bottles, also includes a measuring cup for easy dosing.

Waited to do this review until I have used it for a month. Nitrates were out of control in my tank, my test kit water looked blood red after adding the test solutions, had done water change after water change without any affect. Was looking for an alternative, had read about vodka method and the variance in recommendations for that scared me. Decided to give this a try. Tank is a 120 gallon reef with 12 small fish, at maturity for all will be about 52 inches total of fish. Also had a hair algae bloom coming on strong. Dosing on the low end, 12 ml a day. Results have been fantastic. Nitrates are testing at about 1 or 2, probably could use a more sensitive test kit. Also added a bubble aerator due to concern with oxygen depletion. The pump had two outlets, so ran a stone into each of the tanks two overflows, so you can't even see them. Hair algae slowly turned brownish green, and has stopped growing and the fish and crabs and snails have got it almost gone. Water is perfectly clear. Been at 12 ml daily since the start, going to start reducing here shortly to try to find my maintenance dose. I know it has been said before, but don't even think about using this without a protein skimmer. The crap that gets pulled out is a black liquid that looks like used motor oil. Overall highly recommended, not a single drawback. Will use this forever.

After taking my biopellets off line a few months ago and doing alot of traveling for work, I started having some nitrate issues due to lack of weekly W/Cs. I had gone to bi-monthly W/Cs, aggresive protien skimming (wet) with heavy use of carbon to compensate for my away schedule. After losing several corals, the ones remaining were not happy campers since my trates had risen to over 20ppm. Not horribly high but way higher than I can remember for some time. After a couple weeks of W/Cs and continued wet skimming/heavy carbon use, The nitrates were not coming down so I decided to give the NO3-Po4X a try for the heck of it before doing a heavier sump and bed cleaning. After 4 days of use my nitrates are down from over 20ppm to 2ppm. No other methods were used other than the dosing and previously unsuccessfull W/Cs.
I will cut my dosing in half to maintain levels when it's below 2ppm which could be tonight.
Stuff works!

I've spent almost a year trying to get hair algae under control. No matter how many water changes I did per week, I could not get nitrates down and the algae was winning the war. Two weeks after starting to use this product, the algae started dying off. By week number four, 90% of it was gone! The corals look very plump, bright and happy. This is simply incredible.

this stuff is fantastic! after trying alot of products & ways to get my reef on track nothing worked my tank looked like crap byropsis & gelidium algae taking over I got a bio pellet reactor, did phosphate removers, tried carbon dosing in the last 2 years sps corals looked like swamp mud, algae kept growing I was ready to give it up saw good reviews on this 2 months ago & decided to give it one more go & to my surprise in a week nitrates were down algae growth stopped corals were getting a bit of color.
now I'm starting the second bottle (got the big one this time) algae started getting brown & the snail, hermits & urchin are eating it!!! the entire tank is so much brighter & glass cleaning is now every 10 days instead of daily & corals are really coloring up & growing :) if everything else has failed you try this you will be happy like I am I actually like to look at my tank now instead of wanting to throw it away

Have fish and corals together, nitrates where @ 4, since using product along with coral reef energy daily has reduced the levels to .075, would highly recommend this product, check ph values every week and adjust as necessary, this application is curently being used in a 150 gallon and 125 gallon tank.

So far so good. Have been dosing for 3 weeks and numbers coming down slowly. Will take my time increasing dosage to achieve correct levels. To early to tell if it will be successful.

Brings down the nitrate and phosphate levels effectively, also does it steadily instead of drastically like other products do. Ie bio pellets. Also really like the included measuring cup that comes with the product. Just have to be a little fluent in 4th grade math to understand the instructions lol. Used the less than (<) and greater than (>) symbols. If you can understand that then your golden. Took my nitrates from 14ppm (as measured by the nitrate pro red sea test kit) to 4ppm over the course of 2-3 weeks. Now I'm just fine tunig the dosage over this next week to maintain a constant level of trates and phosphate for my LPS tank. Also you have to have a skimmer to use this product as it increases the effectiveness of it by a ton. Before I started using the product my skimmate was a wet skim that was a light greenish yellow color. Now the skimmate is a dark brown foul smelling stuff and it's still the same consistency as my skimmate was before (wet). And just for reference I keep a trio of anthias, a carpenters wrasse, yellow spot goby, and 2 Picasso percs. Feeding them 2 times a day. And multiple LPS and zoas. So hi bioload on the tank. Overall awesome product.

Works great got my nitrates and phos levels down in 2 weeks. Cleared up the cyano I've been trying to get rid of. Promotes growth of good bacteria to clear the nitrates and phos.
