This pump is made with a plastic outlet that can break off when you slide air tubing onto it. also DON'T place the air pump on the bottom of your cabinet as you can get shocked as it has no GFCI ground on the unit. other pumps outperform this unit I would not recommend this unit if you are looking for a dependable air pump.

I've had these installed for a few months now with no complaints. They are quiet, but audible. I'm using the W-60s though, so I expected a little bit of noise. No complaints so far, and should these stand the test of time, they'll be my new air pump of choice.

I have the dual output one and it is a good pump. Enough power to fully aerate 2 55gallon drums, one for salt, the other for RO/DI, 24/7. Really brings up the pH. It hums less than most others.

I ordered this, which had good reviews, when my air pump had become extremely noisy and was only pumping air off and on.
When it came I was going to throw my old one away and then decided to take it apart and have a look inside.
When I did, it was obvious that the small magnet that was on the bottom of the metal arm that pushed the rubber "plunger cup" that pushed the air was too low and was hitting the electro magnet that electrically made it swing.
I found I could take it apart and used some sandpaper to sand the magnet down so it didn't hit anymore and completely cleared the electro magnet, and it was then completely quiet and worked great.
So, I no longer needed a new one.
They were great about me doing a return, but I evaluated it and decided that by the time I paid postage to mail it back as it hadn't been expensive to start with, it made more sense to just keep it and have a spare in case the next time my old air pump really is completely dead.

The 60 gallon pumps Ipurchased suit the purpose I am using them for. I am gardening hydroponicaly and the provide great lift for 4 units, far beyond what I thought when I bought them.

My Whisper 20 is quieter; I wouldn't call it silent by a long shot. Seems to pump air just fine for the price though. Not that it matters, but the one I got was black not light gray like in the picture.
