I got this for a seahorse tank. Takes forever to get it together because you need at least 4 hands. Little blue tabs to attach the magnets fall off. I have 2 left out of 8. If you can get it together, it works well, but it's so much trouble to take it apart and get it back together, I don't want to do the regular maintenance it needs to keep my ponies healthy. Needs to be replaced with something less complex and easier to maintain. Works well as far as the job it does, but is outweighed by the work to get there!

Works for me

I've had this running for about two weeks on a 27 cube mixed reef. I didn't want to go for a reactor that would require an unsightly pump in the tank. And I didn't want to run a power filter. Like anything with the Tunze name, it's a quality product. It also looks good and while it's not invisible, you tend not to notice it because it's black and tucks nicely into a corner where it can be concealed behind the rocks. I've been running it with the included filter floss and a mixture of carbon and gfo in the media bag. Really cleared up my water and lowered my phosphates. Also seems to help with the surface film. It does spew air bubbles at first, but in time they go away. I run it in combination with a Hydor skimmer and a CPR in-tank refugium--all the benefits of a sump!

Bought this for my QT tank but wouldn't hesitate to get one for a tank without a sump or to use it as a media reactor in your sump.
