Comments: I have used other models for the last 5 years, w/o problems. The 1200 is a little powerhouse that keeps good water movement in my 125 saltwater tank. I use 4 in the tank. I was using 2, but added 2 more for the corals Yes, I would recommend this product to my friends.

Comments: I have 7 tanks [about 800 gal. worth] and use multiples of these in all of them. They last well and perform dependably. When they finally do die, they are inexpensive enough to just toss out and put in a new one. I use them for undergravel as well as side mount for air/wave circulation. Yes, I would recommend this product to my friends.

Comments: I have been using 5 of these power heads for the last 9 months and haven't had any problems. They are easy to dissemble to clean out and the part I like is that you can aim the flow which is essential when you have a bunch of softies. As of yet I have not had any problems with the pumps clogging up Yes, I would recommend this product to my friends.

Comments: I have 400 and 600 model. great versatile product, cant beat it for the price. Using it with Sure Flow 1600 conversion kit, and it moves some water.... realy. I had to cut the prop to a smaler size to reduce the flow, cause i have 55 gal tank and two maxi jets with conversin kits is to strong. Yes, I would recommend this product to my friends.

Comments: Easy assembly, the product works great and generates a lot of movement. It is not silent though. There is a noise beyond the normal water movement that I'm working to try to correct. Otherwise a great powerhead for the price. Yes, I would recommend this product to my friends.

Comments: I am using the maxi-jet 1200 as a pump for my new 1/10 HP Arctica Chiller. It works fine except tht the 1/2 inch output port does not mate well with 1/2 inch tubing. The connection is very loose and requires at least a zip tie or two. This pump could be enhanced by making a barbed outlet for a better connection Yes, I would recommend this product to my friends.

Comments: These Power heads are amazing they are very powerfull and with the deflector shield you can put the water where you want it. I have Two 900's to suplement my 55g reef tank. They are extremly quiet and work perfect with the constant on/off switching with my Aquarium Systems Natural Wave wave maker. There is no start up chatter or any noise at all to be exact. I will not buy any other power head since using the Maxi-Jet brand. Yes, I would recommend this product to my friends.

Comments: Excellent product. Very powerful and a great price. I use one to mix water by attaching a 5/8" vinyl tube to the longer intake attachment (with a little help from some plumbing tape and CorAffix glue) that extends to the bottom of the bucket and then use several feet of 1/2" vinyl tube attached to the output to pump the water into the tank. It has enough power to push the water at least 4.5 feet above it's level. Yes, I would recommend this product to my friends.

Comments: I wanted this small powerhead to leave it in my reserve tank with my heater in it. i was frustrated by going my reserve tank and feel the water cold at the bottom and warm o the top.last night i installed it into my tank and this morning the water is turning slow and now i know is all in one temperature. i love it. Comments: This unit is simple to assemble and works great, however, the components are beginner/value/economy/entry level (wasn't it obvious from the price??). The unit has a piece that snaps in to the top, to hold the air intake hose. The engineering is such that the hose wants to pop out, and after 5 minutes of fidgeting, the plastic snap in piece no longer stayed in, and never will since the very soft plastic is warped. I am using the unit to aerate and circulate water in a large rubbermaid tub to hold bait shrimp. If I were keeping a regular aquarium, I would still buy a Maxi-Jet, as the performance and the value are great; I would however spend a little bit more and get a unit from the premium line, the difference is that is it probably made from better materials. Yes, I would recommend this product to my friends.

Comments: I have a big (70 gal) old custom-built freshwater tank. It has 3 Maxijet powerheads (two for undergravel flow, one for a filter box). The first set of Maxijet 1200s lasted about 12 years of continuous use (not counting no electricity during hurricanes; blah) before one just gave out and the other got a bad rattle. The two replacements work as well as the old ones. 12 years seems pretty durable to me. I recommend.They processed order and shipped with no problems. Yes, I would recommend this product to my friends.

Comments: Maxijets are the only pumps that i have found that work with a wave-maker like RedSea's WaveMaster Pro, which turns on and off the pumps frequently and randomly. I am replacing 2 pumps that eventually burned out after about 2 years of maintenance-free service. These pumps are workhorses! Also very quiet. Yes, I would recommend this product to my friends.

Comments: I purchased this product to add some more oxygen to my tank and to stir up the surface a bit. The Maxi-Jet Powerhead 1200 is very quiet. There is a valve that you can turn to adjust the output of the air bubbles, so if you want a whole lot of bubbles open it up. The only issue I have, and it's just my situation, I think it might be a bit too powerful for my 54 gal. tank. Yes, I would recommend this product to my friends.

Comments: Got this unit to replace an older one of the same model whose innards were fouled with little sponges and what-not. This pump is well made and moves a lot of water, almost too much for my nano-reef. This time I'm using a pre-filter to hopefully keep the smaller reef critters out. It would be nice if a pre-filter was supplied with the unit. Yes, I would recommend this product to my friends.

Comments: The 400 is the only Maxi-Jet that works trouble free with the Alae Free Sure Flow upgrade. No noise or reverse flow. I have four that work perfect, and I had to get rid of the 600 and 900 because of those issues. With the Sure Flow and the 400, I still get massive water movement with less watts. Yes, I would recommend this product to my friends.

They're not always the right pump for every application, but they are well built, tough little pumps that will last through years of saltwater aquarium abuse. Comments: This powerhead is awesome! Silent, powerful and only warmed the water in my 55 gallon yellow lab cichlid tank by .6 of a degree. I use it to power an undergravel jet system with 2 outlets. The flow is perfect for my labs and they love to 'ride' on the current. I picked up a second Maxi Jet 1200 for water changes. I simply attatch a length of 3/8" clear tubing to my Maxi Jet, put it in the tank and turn it on. When I'm done draining, I detatch the pump and take it to the other room, reattatch the tubing and drop it in my r/o water and fill my tank. No more messy buckets, spills or strain. The Maxi Jet is a versatile, dependable and powerful powerhead at a fantastic value. Yes, I would recommend this product to my friends.

Comments: i know this is a bad comparison but its almost like a honda civic...its not the mercedes or bmw of cars...but it does the job and it does it great. i have 3 of them...and i must say i wont buy another brand...especially when they are so CUSTOMIZABLE.(thats why i used the civic comparison) if you want more output...slap an upgrade on it from ALGAE FREE and it will go from 350 g.p.h. to 1600 gallons an hour without an increased energy bill and you can also find magnet holders if you dislike suction cups. PS- no i dont have a a civic...or even a honda...im a VW fan but i just wanted to get the idea acrosst that these things are great the way they are but if you want more you dont have to buy a whole new pump. Yes, I would recommend this product to my friends.

Comments: Hard to complain about the price, but I guess I was a little disappointed at how weak the flow is. I just needed some movement along the back wall of my 125g, but didn't want a sandstorm going on back there. This is a fairly large pump compared to its output. I own two others, and one has a Hydro oscillating thingy on it, but I guess I never paid attention to how weak the flow was. It works, but I now wish I would've got something with a touch more flow. Yes, I would recommend this product to my friends.

Comments: This pump does not work with a Sealife Systems protein skimmer. I wanted to replace a Rio800 RVT (because they break down so soon) with this pump. Comments: I set one of these up to use with my new Phospan Reactor. I was not able to use the mounting bracket and the suction cups kept unsticking. I wish they switch to a magnetic type clip. Yes, I would recommend this product to my friends.

Comments: You can't beat these pumps for the price. They also work in very low water levels due to there slim low profile design wich is why I use them instead of a higher priced bulky pump such as a Magdrive. I have other Maxi-Jets that I have been using for over 3 years and not a single one has failed.Just clean them regularly and they will last for years. Comments: This is an amazing Powerhead. I have it hooked up to a wavemaker and when it goes on and off I dont even hear it. I have 2 MJ1200'a an MJ400 and a SEIO m620 plus my 600gph return. With all this flow my corals and fish ARE in the ocean! Yes, I would recommend this product to my friends.

Comments: I have messed with powerheads for 20 years. When I first experienced these units it was cathartic. It was like the day I got my zero-turn mower or my first decent cordless drill. This is just the best and there is no reason to look else where for something else. Trust me, it is a waste of time. The stuff they send with the unit will help you with anything you are ever going to need to do with this pump for mounting or filtering. That alone is worth the price. The impellers are near bullet-proof and extremely quiet. The directional nozzels ACTUALLY STAY ON and the air hoses stay plugged in. That was a miracle find for me after replacing head after head, year after year! Yes, I would recommend this product to my friends.

Comments: This pump was recommended to us. Our application is different and has nothing to do with marine applications. We needed the flow capacity of the 1200 and lower pressures and especially the low 20W power consumption. We are using it to cool an electric vehicle motor controller! It is mounted in a small 1 quart reservoir and its compact size is important. It is quiet and with a small DC/AC inverter, it runs off 12V power system. And best of all it is very affordable from you folks and was received very quickly! Yes, I would recommend this product to my friends.

Comments: I swapped out a Maxi Jet 1200 with this in the back of my 6g Nano Cube. Hydor Flo on the output (lost 65 gph) and less than half the watts of the 1200. Threw a Hydor Nano Koralia instead of a Mini Jet for more flow and even less watts! Yes, I would recommend this product to my friends.

Comments: If you are looking for more circulation in your tank, this is a great pump to go with. It has a lot of power and will get the water moving. Along with its power it is pretty quiet. If you have a sand substrate on the floor of your fish tank, you don't want this to close to the bottom as it will suck it right into the motor. Overall, it is a great pump with lots of power and adjustablility. Yes, I would recommend this product to my friends.

Comments: I bought the maxi jet 400 for my 20 gallon salt water aquarium I was expecting a little more pressure however it did not meet my expectations. I am sure if I get another one it will meet my expectations. I am happy of the fact that the equipment is really silent and does not occupy much space. I did get a maxy 1200 for my 46 Bow Front aquarium and I have to say I am really happy with the power it has and also the silent motion. All my little critters (live stock) are very happy and enjoying the current it creates. I will definatly pass the word around of how good the equipment is.
