Comments: I GAVE IT ONLY FOUR STARS....FOR THE FACT THAT IT PRODUCES WONDERFUL MOVEMENT IN THE TANK..BUT AS FOR THE WAVE MOTION ITS NOT ALL THAT GREAT...FOR A TANK THATS 20 GALLONS OR SMALLER IT WOULD MAKE WONDERFUL WAVES, BUT NOT IN A RED SEA MAX 34 GALLON...OVERALL EXPERIENCE ITS A WONDERFUL PRODUCT AND YOU WILL BE VERY HAPPY WITH IT SO DONT HESITATE TO BUY IT..FOR THE RED SEA MAX 34 GALLON BUY THE MP20...YOU WILL LOVE IT... Yes, I would recommend this product to my friends.

Comments: After using various powerheads to try and achieve flow, I found that it was harder to control the temperature of a nano tank. It goes without saying the Ecotech has some great innovation, I was immediately impressed at the broad flow (not like a high powered jet like powerheads). The idea of a controller on such a small pump is another much needed feature in the nano world. I prefer switching from Reef Crest mode to the short wave pulse. When the pump was added to the tank I immediately noticed all the detritus that was stirred up, an a strong undertow was obvious. Yes, I would recommend this product to my friends.

Comments: Great for making waves but best for tanks smaller than 20gls. Go with either 2 MP10s on anything larger or use MP20/40. Makes nice wave pattern but as stated before, not much water movement in anything larger than a 20 and the more rock work you have, the less water movement around the tank. Overall, nice pump recommend for wave, reef crest/lagoon action. Yes, I would recommend this product to my friends.

Comments: Sure it's a bit expensive, but if you got it in your budget, you won't regret this purchase. I have one of these in my 22 gallon tank and it moves water like nobody's business. Set up is simple and it's very easy to use. I recommend this product highly. Yes, I would recommend this product to my friends.

Comments: Put one of these in my Red Sea Max 34 and all I can say is wow! Perfect flow. Corals and fish love it. I've tried several other high-end powerheads and none of them compare to the output of this pump. Not cheap, but worth every penny. You won't be disappointed with this one! Comments: this is not a magical item....i'd buy it again, but it does seem a touch overpriced...its really just like a korelia with a circuit board attached that makes it go at different speeds...to pretend its anything more is silly. That said, it does what it claims to do...moves water... too many reefers on forums use groupthink and have this thing hyped up to be the best thing going...remember, its just a water pump. your tank can survive/thrive without it. Yes, I would recommend this product to my friends.

Comments: I have had my reef up and running for 14 years now, I never have been able to get a satisfactory flow to simulate the environment I wanted(Lagoon protected reef type area). I have a 20 gal Long tank with various types of corals. Until now I've had multiple types of powerheads for flow countercurrent stimulation, there all gone now .... Put my new MP10 in set it up just like the instructions said spacer and all, and tah dah, I decided to go with the lagoon mode at what i guess is about 300gph max limit +/-. AWESOME. coral expansion IMMEDIATELY. It's like i gained another tank in space inside my tank, no more junky wires no gobs of pumps to clean!!!!! And this pump is SILENT after about 4 hours or so (after you tweak the positioning..) feed mode awesome. Night mode works well reduces to 50% of your set max flow for 10 hours (Midnight to 10am for me)then resumes your setting (Lagoon for me on this) Seriously recommended..... Yes, I would recommend this product to my friends.

Comments: At first in looking for better circulation in my aquarium I could not have imagined spending this much on a pump. Well, after doing a great deal of research this is the pump I wanted, and I am so happy! This thing is great! I have it in my solana 34 and on high it blows up a sand storm so it has plenty of power. Great waves, great adjustment and worth the money. Here is a great american company coming up with new technology, living the dream I would say, and I am happy to reward them! Great Job! Yes, I would recommend this product to my friends.

Comments: I have run MP40's on my bigger tank. When I took it down and changed to a 24 gallon Nano tank I installed an MP40. I knew it was to big but did not want to invest in another pump. Things did not work out and I bought the MP10. WOW this was a great thing for the Nano. It is very quite compared to the MP40 and runs much cooler. The smaller size is great for the smaller tank. I set up a nice wave and my SPS's extended within minutes. Every thing looks great and my Clowns are loving it also. Nice job on this pump. Yes, I would recommend this product to my friends.

Comments: I got the pump up and running in no time. After experimenting for a few days I decided on the reef-crest mode.I have a Red Sea 34 cube and the flow on low is just fine. The corals seem to like the pump action. Night mode works well(although I don't see much difference) and the feed mode is great. Also it is as quiet as can be. The fellow who says his is loud must not have it lined up properly. GREAT PRODUCT!!! Yes, I would recommend this product to my friends.

Comments: This pump is probably the best yet from Ecotech Marine. The introduction into my 50 gallon cube replaced 2 other power-heads; this is now the only pump I run for internal flow in my mixed reef tank. I could not believe the range of flow this pump can generate. The control features are very simple to use but offer a variety of programmable or preset functions. You can even control the wavelengths and crest periods with the use of two buttons and a single dial. The noise factor is minimal, if any at all and it creates amazing flow with such a tiny footprint. For the price, quality, and performance you cannot buy a better pump! Yes, I would recommend this product to my friends.

Comments: I just received this today and put it in my Elos Mini. It was like Ecotech designed this pump for this tank. With a couple buttons and some fine tuning of the dial, I have a nice standing wave. Took less than 10 minutes to setup and dial-in. Yes, I would recommend this product to my friends.

Comments: I put the MP10 on my 30 gallon mixed reef. The ammount of flow is amazing. It is now the only pump I need, other than my circulation pump. I set it to reef crest mode. My corals really seem to enjoy the random turbulance. Polyp extension is amazing. Yes, I would recommend this product to my friends.

Comments: I have a 29g w/ 20lbs of LR and the flow is pretty amazing. I have to turn it down about half way to prevent sandstorms. Easily produces small waves and good surface action. My clowns love it, have not added enough corals yet to comment. Yes, I would recommend this product to my friends.

Comments: I have a 29 gallon BioCube with about 20 lbs of rock in it. This pump produces some great, random flow patterns however I do have some complaints. 1. It is LOUD. I've had it up and running for about 5 days and have noticed very little change in volume. Ecotech claims that eventually it will break in and quiet down but I have yet to notice any change. Also, it is so small that the "sweet spot" to align the halves and reduce vibration is very small. I have been fiddling with it all week and have yet been able to totally reduce vibration. I am concerned that this vibration and noise is going to stress out my tank inhabitants. 2. It seems a little under powered for this size tank. I have spent considerable time messing with the controls trying to get a standing wave like what is shown in the You Tube videos but have yet to succeed. I think that the main contributing factors are A) my rock structures create too much turbulence to produce a good, clean wave and B) a lack of power to get the water column moving. Saying that, I could just be doing something wrong as I am no expert on the subject of hydro-dynamics. Even with my two main complaints, this is still a good quality pump. It is very well built and seems like it will last a long time. The noise can be reduced if you run the pump at about 75% RPM or less but over that it's very noticeable. The reef crest and lagoon modes at about 50% power seem to produce a good, random flow with minimal noise. If you are considering this product primarily for "wave making", and you have a ~30 gallon "cube" type tank I would go with the MP20. To get anything close to a wave, I have to run at 100% power which is very loud. IMO, I give this product a C+ for wave making, a B+ for good random flow and an A+ for concept. One last thing- I wish the duration of night mode was adjustable. I would like to be able to make the pump run on the same schedule as my lights Yes, I would recommend this product to my friends.

Comments: This is a nice pump for a small environment aquarium. I've used a number of different power heads in my small aquarium but this is by far the best. The corals have really responded to this unit. Replaced a Koralia as I wanted more flow with a varying pattern and the Vortech fit this requirement perfectly. Was simple to set up and not too difficult to set the program I desired. Yes, I would recommend this product to my friends.

Comments: This is the first review I've done on MarineDepot. The MP10 is that good I just had to pass on the feedback. I've had this in my JBJ 28 HQI for about 5 days. I replaced a Tunze Nano and Koralia 1 with the single MP10. I was concerned the flow of up to 1575g/h might be too much for the nano. But in reality I've increased the pot control to max and set the mode to Reef Crest. I must say the flow is excellent. It's strong but not overpowering. Other pumps I've had in the small tank have blown the mushrooms from the rocks. The cylcing of the wave driver creates a nice strong steady turbulent flow throughout the tank. Everything in every location benefits and nothing is getting blasted. Setting the mode to Continuous for a while churns up a good deal of detritus. It's a good way to suspend everything to flushed by the skimmer/can filter. This is now the only powerhead I need in this tank. At max flow this should turn over the tank 56 times/hr. which is great for my mixed tank. These pumps aren't cheap but I think they're worth it. If this were available I would have bought it to start with instead of tinkering with 4-6 other smaller pumps in various configurations. I'll definitely consider the MP40's when I upgrade my tank later this year. Yes, I would recommend this product to my friends.
