Puratek 200 GPD RO/DI Filter System
Information
Puratek 200GPD RO/DI System
WATER PURIFICATION / RO/DI SYSTEMS
Procuring pure water rests at the very baseline of success for the modern aquarist. Vertex Aquaristik™ rises to this challenge with the conception of the Deluxe Puratek RO/DI water filter. Through sound component selection and optimization of contaminant extraction, Deluxe Puratek RO/DI units minimize energy use, water consumption and media replacement.
PURE WATER, TROUBLE FREE
The on-board microprocessor controller enables every Deluxe Puratek RO/DI unit to function with full automation. At set intervals, the unit will perform routine system backflushes, preserving the longevity of the membrane and efficiency. The unit is further featured with a shut-off solenoid which halts all water transit during instances of backpressure or loss of power to the controller.
MAXIMUM COMPATABILITY AND EFFICIENCY
Each Deluxe Puratek 200 GPD RO/DI system is furnished with a Vertex™ HP-200 Booster Pump, enabling the setup to operate at the lowest source water pressures. By closely monitoring the water input, Deluxe Puratek RO/DI systems are amongst the most eco-friendly units, producing pure water with absolutely minimal waste.
FUNCTIONALLY CONVENIENT
A processor controlled digital output TDS meter tracks water purity and performance. The oil-filled pressure gauge makes for easily visible system operating standards. A set of clear, easy-to-view canisters are unmistakably visible indicators of cartridge life. Finally, standardized fittings and cartridges remove all suppositions from installation and replacement routines.

This is my first RO/DI unit and I am very pleased with the product. It produces very little waste water (about 1:1.5 waste) compared to other units I have researched. The unit does leak(about 1/4 cup of water per 5 gallons produced) at the carbon filter front and rear fittings. The instructions that came with the product are vague and could be vastly improved. Fortunately, this store's great customer service answered all my questions.

The system works good. It came with everything that I needed to hook it up. I don't like the location of the water supply valve. It attaches to the faucet inlet pipe, which is behind and underneath the sink. In the future I will find a way to relocate this valve. Directions are practically non existent. Not that they are needed to set up the system. But the digital display reads "00PP" I'm not sure if this is telling me there are zero ppm dissolved solids or just that it is operating. Good flow rate. Maybe 1:1.5 waste ratio, but my well water is probably 50 degrees and not the recommended 70 degrees. Automatically back flushes every time you turn it on (good for filter life and efficiency). Built in booster pump is great for people with low pressure (ie. well water) or just to speed up water production.

So I just set up the unit and as I'm typing it is currently making water. Very easy and simple setup. Installed all the filters and chambers, connect the hose lines to the unit, connect the waterline to the faucet, turned on the water, plugged in the unit, watched the water fill through the chambers, waste water started flowing, 20 seconds later the pure water started flowing with 0 PPM of fresh clean RO/DI water. I wanted to make sure that the TDS meter on the unit was accurate so I tested the faucet, waste, and pure water with a hand held tds meter and here were the measurements in the same order: 27, 62, and 0 PPM. The extra pump on the unit production of pure/waste water is almost 1:1 as in the description. My water pressure is only 40psi and I have tried several other RO units, they all produced a lot more waste water. The pressure gauge on the unit is reading about 125psi so the pressure is not a problem now! I've read a few reviews saying their units leaked when they first set up the unit but I had no problems with leaks, just make sure when you connect the tubing into the unit make sure you push the tubing in all the way. So all in all I am very pleased with the unit, if you have poor water pressure at home or just had other units produce too much waste water get the Puratek 100GPD RO/DI System.

Well you kind of have figure out how the system works...before you mount inside be sure to check your fittings because all of mine leaked at first. You have to play with them to get them to quit leaking. The product works good...they just to install proper installion instructions.

I recently purchased the 100gpd Puratek and it works great, great water ratio, pretty quiet and it came with the sink adapters (although you may have to go out and buy different ones or additional parts what they give you is useful, if they included every adapter for every possible hook up it would just increase the price).
The instructions were lackluster, if you are a big do it yourselfer and can logically figure things out it's not a huge deal but if you are someone who needs instructions and a lot of support you will most likely find yourself looking elsewhere for guidance.
The one big gripe I have with the unit is the connections going into some of the chambers leak, it is very disappointing however it is not really a deal breaker. I haven't figured out how to seal them yet but eventually I will. Putting a sponge under it for the drops to accumulate in the meantime has been sufficient.
For the price you really cannot beat this machine, especially if you have poor water pressure. The booster pump, gauge, TDS meter all help make this unit a bargain and as the other reviewers have mentioned the waste water ratio is very impressive.

Don't mount the unit on the wall until you have checked for leaks. Every one of the cannister connections on the unit I received were leaking. Both front and back connections. I had already mounted it, and had to take it down and literally take the unit apart to fix all the leaks. I'm now suspicious as to the quality of the rest of the unit. It is now purging the membraned (3.5 hour flush) - It appears to be producing a 50/50 waste to good water output.

This is my first RO/DI so I cannot compare it to others available but the quality of this product speaks for itself. And now after running it for a month, I wish I would have purchased an RO/DI unit earlier.

Product came complete with all hook up equipment. If you have a newer home with modular plumbing its a perfect fit to existing outlet. Running in 15 minutes.I would recommend a float valve on the treated water out let. not for use with an A.T.O. that interrupts the electrical feed. unit resets and flush on start-up.

I am very glad I purchased this unit from here, due to the excellent telephone technical assistance. Because I don't want to create waste water that I cannot use, I paid extra for this 100 GPD unit, which produces pure water at an almost 1:1 ratio. The manual that accompanies the unit is terrible--initial setup is a challenge. If you plan to attach the unit to a sink or a hose (rather than break into your plumbing pipes), be sure to order separate adapters. i ended up detaching my kitchen sink's aerator, and they covered the shipping for the adapters that I needed to install the system.Overall, I am quite happy with this purchase. It produces 6 gallons in approximately an hour. The booster pump increases the pressure in my system to 100 psi.
