The tunze has a smaller footprint. I have a 65 so size does matter. 2. The mjmod isn't variable. Its an AC motor, so its either on or off. The tunze works great with the 7095 controller. I can set it to pulse mode and it creates nice wave like currents. 3. This thing is quiet!!! Its barely audible. The mjmod was LOUD!!! Tunze aren't cheap. But as they say, "you get what you pay for." You could buy tunze once or some cheap brand that you'll be replacing sooner then later. Yes, I would recommend this product to my friends. I coupled it with a Tunze 7091 controller to simulate wave motion. Fish and corals love it!! While the pump seems to be high in price, you get what you pay for. Currently used on a 30 gallon long tank with the voltage set to 12v. Had to wait nearly 6 months for this pump to be stocked, but it was worth the wait. Tunze pumps are the best hands down. Yes, I would recommend this product to my friends.
