Benefits: Blue Life Precision Kalkwasser is a tried and true method for supplementing calcium and maintaining KH/alkalinity levels in marine aquariums. Experts have used Kalkwasser for many years, and few products compare to its effectiveness. Its primary use is as a calcium and KH/alkalinity enhancement for the water needed to replenish the aquarium due to evaporation. In addition, Precision Kalkwasser will aid in maintaining pH and KH/alkalinity while enhancing your protein skimming and the precipitation of phosphates. Precision Kalkwasser is made with high quality (USP Grade) chemicals, which insures you will not be adding unwanted amounts of metals or organics to your aquarium. This product does require some effort to be used properly, but the results are well worth it. Directions: Test: It is recommended to test your aquarium`s calcium level prior to use. The ideal calcium level in a marine fish or reef aquarium is between 400 and 450ppm (mg/L). Dose: NEVER ADD KALKWASSER POWDER DIRECTLY TO THE AQUARIUM. Make a stock solution by adding 1-2 level teaspoons (3-6g) of Precision Kalkwasser per gallon (3.79L) of cool freshwater (preferably R.O. or De-Ionized water) in a closed container and mix thoroughly. Let solution stand for several hours. A white precipitate will form at the bottom of the mixing vessel. This precipitate should not be added to the aquarium. Remove the clear calcium enriched water from the vessel and drip into aquarium over 8-12 hours. If added too quickly, pH levels will rise making your aquarium water unstable. It is recommended to dose Precision Kalkwasser solution at night when pH levels are declining. It is important to monitor pH while using this product. If pH drops below 8.1 increase your dosage, if pH raises above 8.4 then lower the dosage. To raise calcium and KH more quickly, use Blue Life Coral Calcium and Precision KH buffer. Frequency: Test your water at least once every week and add Precision Kalkwasser accordingly. Note: adding 1 gallon (3.79L) of stock solution, using 2-teaspoons of Precision Kalkwasser, to a 40-gallon (151.6L) aquarium will increase your calcium by 24 ppm (mg/L). WARNING: Caustic! Keep out of reach of children. Handle in a well-ventilated area and avoid inhaling and contact with skin or eyes. In case of contact with skin, thoroughly flush contacted area with water. If ingested, contact a physician or poison control center immediately.
