It gives the look of sunlight and moonlight coming through the water giving it a great effect. The LED's are strong enough to penetrate to the bottom of the tank an illuminate the bottom. I am currently using one unit in conjunction with my current bulb lighting system but soon will be converting to this system entirely. Yes, I would recommend this product to my friends. These are well built units and give off some intense light. The shimmer with the mixed blue/white is great. My only issue is the length of the extension cord between the modules. It is to short. The only option is to splice the cord... That is a minor problem for a great product. Yes, I would recommend this product to my friends.
