I put it in my room, on my dresser, away from direct sunlight (to prevent algae buildup). My betta seems very happy in his stylish 'globe'. I only turn the light on at night time, and it is also the time that I feed him. So, the light has almost become his signal for feeding time. Light turns on, he's scouring the top of the water for bloodworms! It's a little bit tricky to clean when emptying out the gravel and plant, but I bet it's a lot easier than a conventional aquarium. In the end, it's worth every penny, especially if you have the room match properly. Yes, I would recommend this product to my friends.
