The AP1006 Protein Skimmer is a high performance, 6 pump model for larger aquariums and commercial systems from 8000 to 12000 lts.
It incorporates the patented "Neuhaus" Pinwheel system in six modified Eheim 1260 pumps, resulting in unsurpassed skimming performance.

Air is drawn in automatically through an air intake adaptor. The rotation of the water/air mixture provides a long contact time with the pollutants resulting in a highly efficient performance. The extremely fine water/air mixture is pumped into the contact tube, where it rises and is collected in a removable cup at the top of the skimmer.

When a skimmer is running it will produce a head of foam which is determined by the amount of air and the bubble size. A simple general way of comparing the relative performance of a skimmer without even running it is to look at the neck diameter where it enters the cup. The larger this is, the greater the performance, as it takes a greater head of foam to be able to climb up a larger diameter tube.

The diameter of the AP1006 riser tube is 200mm. Compare that with your existing skimmer and you will understand what we are talking about. Tapered tubes simply reduce the opening to cope with a smaller volume of foam.

The AP1004 produces a maximum level of air of 2400 lts per hour.

Water throughput - 3500 lts/hr, (667 UK gallons/hr).
Installation kit - item 88054 (pump not included).
Self cleaning head - Item 88103 (increases performance by 20%)
3600 litres of air/hr are produced at the venturi.
