Excellent!

Comments: This solid, heavy little unit, built & backed by Icecap, is a perfect complement to EcoTech Marine's VorTech. It truly is insurance in a box, and is a better alternative by far than my previous "prayer method" approach to a power outage. I also see that Icecap plans to offer a battery replacement in 5-6 years with equivelant or current technology for a projected nominal fee of roughly $65 + shipping... now that's thinking ahead. Yes, I would recommend this product to my friends.

Average

Good, except... by Trevor

Comments: The EcoTech system is the way to go, however after purchasing 2 MP40W's and a battery backup, and installed everything, found out that the battery backup only comes with 1 cable to hook up only 1 pump. So far I have not been able to find any retailer who sell's the needed cable for 2nd pump, and have been directed to contact icecap, which on their website does not have any mention of it either. All in all I love the system, however EcoTech needs to include the 50 cent cable to maximize the backup power and not nickle and dime the consumer. Yes, I would recommend this product to my friends.

Great

Comments: Could have been (better) designed with wire connections on the top so that you can place it upright on the floor behind the tank, but I guess they figured you would mount it inside the stand. Also, there are connections for the battery to run two Ecotech units, but the battery comes with only one set of connecting wires for one pump (?).Besides these minor issues, its simple to install, worked when I tested it, and does give you a sence of comfort knowing you will have power in a blackout. Yes, I would recommend this product to my friends.
