KNOP granular activated carbon (GAC) has been produced specifically for marine aquaria and develops the best adsorption rate in pH values between 7.5 and 8.5. Organic metabolites, “Gelbstoff” and gases are being bound reliably. During the process of production, KNOP carbon GAC is being activated without phosphates and can therefore not leach any phosphates into the aquarium water. The long term effect allows the use as substrate for denitrifying bacteria.
