Benefits: Filter socks are the most convenient form of mechanical filtration. They remove excess food, detritus, organic waste, dust, and other particulates. I have a 3000 liter reef aquarium with lots of corals and fish. The water overflows on two sides into the large sump,now via two "Blue Life Filter Socks". The result is perfect, really crystal clear aquarium water. Unfortunately I have to clean the socks every one to two days. But it is OK since the benefit is clearly visible.
