Cables Too Short by PAUL HARRISON Experience Level: Expert Posted on 8/16/2007 from RIO RANCHO, NM UNITED STATES Comments: I purchased this ballast to replace one that failed in my Orbit 1025 fixture after less than 13 months (i.e. just after the warranty expired). While the ballast works fine, the cables are far too short for the 1025 fixture (probably 18" to 2' too short) and I had to splice some of the wire from the old ballast into the new to extend them. The cables MAY be long enough for the Orbit 1024, but I wouldn't reccomend this for the Orbit 1025 unless you want to spend the time extending the wires and ending up with a much messier installation than the original. I would not recommend this product to my friends. But, like everyone else said, the wires for the lights are too short. I was hoping to connect it to the cords I already have that I got with the SunPaq retro-fit kit, but this ballast is pre-wired and the colors of the wires don't match so I'm not sure what to splice together. Based on cost, it is better that no lights at all. Yes, I would recommend this product to my friends.
