It makes my tank glow but it's not as bright as I expected. My tank had an algae explosion after switching lights so you may want to decrease the time you keep the aquarium lit. On a positive note, my plants that were all dying now have new growth, if only they weren't covered in algae. This is a must have if you have live plants. Yes, I would recommend this product to my friends.
