This 250W 14000K bulb casts a crisp-white light with a blue tint. Great for bringing out the coloration of fish and corals while providing sufficient intensity for growth. An HQI, Pulse-Start or Electronic ballast is required. This bulb is offered at an excellent price and is a very good choice for reef tanks 22"–30" deep.

Comments: This is by far my favorite bulb. The performance out beats just about every other bulb out there. The coloring is incredible. Just as the others say, its as blue as a 20k but much brighter and more intense. The coral growth from the phoenix bulb is also one of the good things about this bulb. I have absolutely no complaints about this product and would quickly recommend it to anyone who has metal halide lighting, because i know that they will not be disappointed.
Yes, I would recommend this product to my friends.

Comments: Very powerful bulb with a very nice color. I am running these bulbs on the aqua medic ocean lights fixture with M80 ballast. Very crisp white/blue light output. Par levels with these bulbs are much higher then my previous AB 20K bulbs with close to the same color output. I will be buying these again in 12 months.
