"The Hammerhead™ is the most powerful pump in its class. This energy efficient pump is ideal for 300-500 gallon aquariums with sump return systems requiring a minimum of 15 feet static head. This unit is rated for a maximum flow rate of 5800gph, a shut off head of 23 feet and maximum wattage of 350/ 3 amps. Using a 1/3 horsepower Baldor® TEFC Motor manufactured in the USA.

Excellent!

Comments: I use it on my closed loop. Very quiet considering it's size. The manufacturer was very helpful with my questions regarding proper mounting. It must be well ventilated with cool air; otherwise it can transfer heat to the water. No different than any other fan cooled external pump, except that it's such a large pump, so it's more noticeable, especially on a smaller system.
Yes, I would recommend this product to my friends.

Comments: Pump is both quieter and more powerful than I expected. I had to valve back the output more than 50%. Motor noise is limited to a low hum.
