I've struggled for years with lesser quality resins from Kent and the mixed-bed resins sold at Fosters & Smith. These Spectrapure filters really do purify the water. I've run about 500 gallons through them and my TDS reading after the first Di filter is still reading 0. My old crappy Kent filters read TDS=3 after 75 gallons. They would read TDS=7 after a couple months. I've had these Spectrapure filters in for several months now and still have TDS=0. I was sceptical that they were any different; I'm a believer now. I'm ordering another set for a school reef tank that I maintain. I use these Maxcap filters in my Kent Silicamax Hi-S 60 GPD unit. I have a 300 Gallon Reef aquarium and this setup works great.
Yes, I would recommend this product to my friends.

I'm upgrading from an SP2000. The instructions were pretty easy to follow, although some of the fittings were a little tight. Slight leak until I fiddled with the fittings, more my own issue (the fittings are standard high quality JG fittings). It didn't strike me at first, but I believe these aren't color change media, so that's why you need the second purity meter. What's nice is I can now see how each RO/DI stage affects the water. From 670ppm (SoCal) to 7, then from 7 to 0. So now instead of having to guess which filter to replace, you will *know*. I haven't used it long enough to tell if the filters will last longer.
Yes, I would recommend this product to my friends.
