Now I know my fish are getting fed when I am away, at work or wishing to sleep in. The amount of food dropped is not enough to feed my fish in my 40 gallon tank so I have to double up on the feeding timer. They get 4 feedings twice a day. This work for us. The preset hole in the tank cover was too small. Half the food (flakes) landed on the cover. I had to make the opening larger. It didn't take long for my fish to get accustom to the feeder. They seem to keep a lookout fish under the feeder ready to give the alert. The idea I had to purchase this feed was to use only when I was away. But it makes feed them so easy I keep it on all the time. I also like the manual override. This way I can give them an extra snack whenever I want to. Yes, I would recommend this product to my friends.
