I don't believe in miracles, but this is as close to it as I've come. A granule of sand embedded in a algae scrub pad trashed my acrylic tank in the amount of time it took to type this. Through a veil of tears I searched this site for a repair kit and bought this one. Underwater, with my critters looking on with mouths agap, I attached the roughest grit pad to the magnet and started buffing perpendicular to the deepest scratch. After removing the scratch, I used progressively finer pads perpendicular to the previous pad until I ran out of pads. During the process, the tank water got more and more cloudy, so I did a partial water change after I was done. With water down in the tank, there were lots of tiny scratches on the acrylic, but when I replaced the water, it was very difficult to see anything at all. The original scratch was gone and there was no evidence of the collateral damage I had done. The tank looked new. Holey moley.
Yes, I would recommend this product to my friends.
