Comments: This is quite a neat piece of lighting. I was quite surprised by the brightness when I first switched it on. Its a good add on should you want to brighten up certain parts of your tank. The shimmering effect it creates is also very relaxing. Only drawback is the spread of the light which reduces when placed near the water surface. Yes, I would recommend this product to my friends.

Comments: Bought this to evaluate the LED performance - spectrum is quite nice, makes soft corals happy. In all, one 12" strip is about as powerful as an 18w power compact; I'm satisfied, and will soon obtain LEDs at the source and build a more powerful version. Yes, I would recommend this product to my friends.

Comments: Great lights! am running two of these strips to suppliment my 2 65W PCs on my 29g reef tank and they look great really kick out the light like a MH but without the HEAT! would need a lot of these though on a larger tank. Yes, I would recommend this product to my friends.

Comments: wow! excellent product. these 4 led's with "nx05" optics are bright. while any quality luxeon type of led will be bright depending on the input voltage, the optics substantially improve the depth at which the led will penetrate the water column. these equally do give the same shimmer effect as halides (but not near the lumens) but then they were not designed to compete with halides. at 4 watts for each 4 led unit (1 watt each led), they won't support a reef tank, however a main unit and an add on unit will adequately light a fish only or fowlr tank of 20 gallons or less, or would be a excellent addition to your compact fluorescents to give a great shimmer effect. with a very small footprint in terms of size, these would fit in any hood or lay flat on the cover with the supplied rubber bumpers. 2 heavy duty plastic brackets are also supplied for mounting on a hood. a miniature toggle switch is mounted on the face of the aluminum case for those that don't use a timer to control there lighting. at the current price, it would be difficult to make these yourself after purchasing the led's, optics, case, power supply, wiring and hardware, and assembled with perfection. the case and internal pad for which the led's are attached to act as a heatsink. these units are well designed, and made in the USA. for newbies: remember to have good water surface agitation from your powerhead or equalivent pump to aid in a shimmer effect. Yes, I would recommend this product to my friends.

Comments: I like this little light. Each LED produces a lot of light. This will make a good light for supplementing other main lighting systems. If you want to use this as your main lighting source, you will need many of them over a small tank. Yes, I would recommend this product to my friends.
