Performance Cubed: Powered by a patent pending paddle-mixing injection system, the Fission Power Skimmer violently mixes air with water - creating a column of millions of tiny microbubbles. These tiny microbubbles provide an enormous surface area for the adsorption of organic compounds and waste products. The impeller`s unique grooved paddle blades remain rigid during rotation, pushing more water and increasing contact time while still hacking those bubbles into a dense froth. Paddle blade impellers move up to twice the volume of water compared to other needle-wheel type skimmers. Functionality Squared: Two unique installation methods allow for either hang-on or in-sump techniques. Mounting bracket fits virtually any tank with a lip of 1.5" or less and can be secured with integrated nylon screws. Submersible pump is UL listed and safe for use in marine aquariums. Simply connect the pump to the skimmer inlet, adjust the water flow to the correct flowrate and skim-away. The collection cup is easy-to-remove and has a easy grommet connection assembly that ensures a snug fit. The drain port in the collection cup makes it easy to collect the foam and drain it away from your system (#8103 only). The microbubble trap captures any tiny errant bubbles.
