I've had about eight of these heaters ranging from the 50 watt to the 300 watt. Last night, the second of these shattered and broke in my reef tank at 1AM. Two others I use in my RO/DI water tanks have managed to weld their thermostats in the on position, heating the water well past the 90's. That's 50% failure so far. Do yourself a favor and pass these up. I'll be buying titanium heaters for use with a controller from now on.
I would not recommend this product to my friends.

Dead fish

Comments:
After 3 weeks one of the 300 watt units on my 125 gallon saltwater tank lost control and turned itself on. Period. On. Next morning the tank was about 100 degrees. Ice saved some fish, all else died.
I would not recommend this product to my friends.

"I was able to price match the item with a major competitor and their staff was very knowledgeable. Having someone on the other end of the line that really knows what they are talking about is invaluable!"
