Comments:
I have 4 each of the 5 ft. T5 HO Bulbs with reflectors powered by an ICECAP 660 ballast. The length of wiring harness that comes with the ICECAP 660 was just not long enough to reach from the ballast underneath the tank up to the 5 ft. T5s as I had hoped. So I purchased the 6 ft wiring harness extension. This was really great for several reasons. Because I have more length of wire to work with I can now fasten the wires in the hood with plastic wiring straps so that it is not hitting the reflectors and moving them every time I open the lid on the canopy for something. I got the plastic wiring straps along with stainless steel screws at my local hardware store. The original wires and harness made everything so tight and caused this problem. Secondly I cut the three wires used for the 120V power connector on the 6 ft extension and connected the power plug here instead of at the original harness connected to the lights. You can see the color of the wires to connect the power plug to from the installation instructions that come with the ICECAP 660. This way the power plug is nearer to the ballast and I am not having to deal with disconnecting the power plug when I disconnect the original harness from the extension harness to remove the light hood on top of the tank. I make sure to disconnect the power before I disconnect the harness and remove the hood. Unless you are going to put the ballast in the hood (probably not a good idea) or fairly close to the lights you will probably need the 6 ft extension harness.
Yes, I would recommend this product to my friends.
