Comments:
I cut the sponge to size to fit in my AquaClear 70 on my 46 gallon bow tank. I bought this to reduce my phosphate levels. I'd read great things online regarding ROWAphos' ability to absorb phosphates without leeching them back into the water. I discovered this new combination ROWAphos and ROWAcarbon product and decided to give it a try. According to the directions, after one week "the phosphate content in freshwater should be less than 0.05 - .10 mg/l (PO4)." After waiting a full week, my phosphate levels, as measured by my API test kit, went from 1.0 mg/l (or ppm) to (wait for it...) 1.0 mg/l! No change at all! Even the appearance of the product doesn't inspire confidence. It looks like an ordinary thin piece of black foam with a few little stones on it. By "few" I seriously mean two or three very small pieces sitting on the foam.
I would not recommend this product to my friends.

"I was able to price match the item with a major competitor and their staff was very knowledgeable. Having someone on the other end of the line that really knows what they are talking about is invaluable!"
