Power consumption is low and wouldn't throw the breaker like the dual 250W HQI halide sometimes did. T5's allow you to fine tune colour to your own personal taste Yes, I would recommend this product to my friends. The corals seem to be loving it already. It makes better sense than halides for us, with less heat build up, and less strain on our electric bill.
