TwoLittleFishies C-Balance 1 gal. Concentrate (Half filled 2 gal. container) A two-part liquid supplement designed to make replenishment of calcium and buffering capacity easy. C-Balance replenishes calcium and carbonate alkalinity with the correct ratio of both major and minor ions, including magnesium and strontium. Maintaining this balance of ions insures the optimal conditions for growth in stony corals and coralline algae. C-Balance also contains natural seawater concentrations of trace elements, but since these are depelted by filtration methods and growth of marinelife, it is important to continuously replenish trace elements with a complete additive like CombiSan. C-Balance replenishes salts lost via protein sikimming, and in this way also helps to promote very stable ratios and concentrations of ions. C-Balance maintains the calcium level, so it can be used as an alternative to kalkwasser or as a supplement to it. C-Balance by STEPHEN HIGDON Experience Level: Intermediate Posted on 3/24/2008 from KALAMAZOO, MI UNITED STATES Comments: The 2, 1-gallon jugs shipped partially full. You must top off with RO or DI water and mix well. One part does not go completely into solution, so I mix just before each use. I use Kalkwasser, but my evaporation rate is not high enough to allow this to be my only source of Ca and Alk. The C-balance allows me to make up for deficiencies. I did use Purple-Up or Kent Liquid Reactor, but these are an all-in-one mixture. The C-balance lets you adjust if Ca is too low without raising phosphates, and vice versa. I am happy with it, and having a couple gallons will last a long time. I use about 15mL of part A and 15mL part B each morning, (when the pH is lowest). I am using it for a 55 gallon, heavily stocked reef tank. Yes, I would recommend this product to my friends.
