New Extended Reach Series Magnavore 2 ER Cleaning Magnet Designed for 1/4 and 3/8 inch thick glass and acrylic, most glass tanks from 30 to 125 Gal. & most acrylic tanks up to 36 inch long and 20 inch high. The inside magnet projects 1/2 inch beyond the outer magnet. This extended reach allows cleaning beyond the visible edge of trims and canopies. Other advanced features such as ergonomic grip, replaceable pads for glass and acrylic, large 2.5 x 3.75 inch cleaning surface set this product apart from all others. This Magnavore product features a one year warranty against defects in materials and workmanship. External Half Magnet: External half magnet is made of 3.75" x 2.00" x 1.75" welded ABS water resistant shell. Twin rare earth magnets are embedded inside the shell. Random Flocked Acrylic contact pad safely protects glass and acrylic. Wears thin over time and is replaced as needed. Included with every Tune-up kit and Acrylicare kit. Internal Half Magnet: Internal half magnet is made of 3.75" x 2.50" x 1.13" watertight welded plastic casing and features two rare earth magnets. The contact surface is a medical grade nylon with tremendous cleaning power on glass. It also acts as a holder for acrylicare pads. Impervious to fresh and salt water. Can be kept continually submerged. Others: Choose cleaning surface according to tank type. Soft polyester acrylicare pads for acrylic aquariums, go over the base pad. Abrasive base pad for glass aquariums. Replace as necessary. It is definitely a strong magnet cleaner and really gets the job done. The extended reach is excellent for cleaning around trim & the hood. However, the magnet quite large. The external magnet is a little big to be comfortable in my hand, and the internal component is bulkier and thicker than the Magnavore 1 it is replacing. This means all of the live rock must be further away from the glass than previously. Also, if you leave the magnet in the tank continuously like I do, it is more noticeable than the smaller one. Overall, a very good product. Yes, I would recommend this product to my friends.
