The only thing I don't like or understand is the external temperatur pickup that has to be suction cupped right next to the heating unit. Just another wire hanging out of my tank that doesn't need to be there. Yes, I would recommend this product to my friends. There is a temperature probe that also goes into the tank that is attached to the controller, but is not shown in the picture. You will have two wires coming out of the tank. I based my purchase on the picture, which shows only one wire. I would not recommend this product to my friends.
