Frozen foods are one of the best food choices for your fish. In general they are the freshest food available to feed. If you find you have a finicky fish that won't accept dry foods, many times they will take to frozen foods without issue.
We try to carry a wide variety of frozen foods from manufacturers such as Rod's Food, Ocean Nutrition and H2O Life with varieties such as the very popular Mysis Shrimp, brine shrimp and blood worms. Feeding a variety of frozen foods will help ensure your fish and corals get a healthy, balanced diet.
Frozen foods should be rinsed thoroughly before being fed to your fish. There are a few ways one can go about rinsing the food. The first method is to let the frozen food thaw in some RO/DI water at room temperature. Once thawed, the frozen food can be strained through a fine mesh fish net
and fed to your fish and corals. A second method is to rinse the food (again with the food in a fine mesh fish net) under water until it is thawed. You can use RO/DI water to rinse it or some will use tap water. If you use a food soak
prior to feeding, it is recommended to soak the food once it has thawed for better absorption.
Our most popular refrigerated food is the DT's Phytoplankton. DT's is Concentrated and cleaned Live Marine Phytoplankton that is an excellent food for all filter feeding organisms in a marine aquarium.
