Sometimes it is maintained that reef biotopes cannot be successful in aquariums with less than 200 liters. Nonetheless, there are more and more aquarists who operate wonderful aquariums with contents of 60, 100 or 150 liters. There is also an increasing demand for small reef aquariums. Obviously, the system must not cause any stress for the animals, and all species of invertebrates or fish should be able to live as in their natural habitat. The range of technical aquarium systems is rather limited for this class of aquariums. Most internal filters frequently develop weaknesses which have a detrimental effect on such a biotope or they are very often completely unsuitable due to the space required. The Nano product series provides very compact units, which offer the same functional principal as larger systems. The Nano filter can be placed in a corner of the aquarium discreetly, and is based on the surface surfaction principle. It has a larger filter volume and has been fitted with a filter pump offering a variable output of 150 to 800 l/h (39 to 211 gal./h). The Filter chamber can be filled with loose micro / macro wadding as well as with activated carbon or other absorbers, such as phosphate removers or peat. In case of larger systems without surface suction with an external cup filter, for example, the Nano filter is a perfect solution to remove the surface film. In a fresh-water tank, the Nano filter renders a better filtering performance than conventional internal filters fitted with simple filter sponges. Its pulls so much gunk out the water that i have to change the floss in it every couple days bc turns brown! I love it! Only complain would be the mounting bracket...its hard to mount and if you dont keep your water level up and top off everyday, the water level will drop and pump will suck air and blow bubbles everywhere....once the unit runs dry it will get light and the whole unit will float up and dis mount of side of tank! Im going to try to rig something up to keep filter mounted in place even if water level drops below skimmer. Hope this helped! Yes, I would recommend this product to my friends.
