Won Brothers Lite Air 50 - Battery Air Pump This air pump can be used as an emergency air source for an aquarium during AC power failure. Useful when transporting or holding fish in a small bucket Operation with two (2) alkaline "D" cell batteries for 72 hours (not included) Comes with an air stone and a 30" long air tube Can be attached at a belt by clip-on attachment When air pump is positioned under the aquarium, a check valve must be used to prevent water from siphoning into the pump in the event of a power outage. Great for a power outage by NEIL BLAIKIE Experience Level: Intermediate Posted on 10/15/2007 from HUDSON, CANADA Comments: I bought this as a backup for my fish tank now that winter is coming and the chance of power outages increases. The unit runs off 2 x "D" CELL batteries which provide power to the unit for up to 72 hours. The unit features a single length of air tube and an air stone to provide emergency air during a power outage or for the transportation of fish. While the included air stone may not be used by everyone, personally I will connect the unit to my existing air system, it does come in handy if you are transporting fish. The unit is small and relatively quiet although this doesn't really matter if experiencing a power outage anyway. All in all this is relatively cheap way of providing air to a small tank, larger tanks above 50 gallons will need a more robust backup system. The unit is small and can easily sit on top of a tank (length of included tubing is not great but sufficient as a backup). The battery replacement is easy with a simple screw cap to access the inside of the unit. Yes, I would recommend this product to my friends. This pump delivers enough air supply to my 150gal. tank long enogh that I dont have to worry about my expensive saltwater fish! This product is reliable and efficient!
