I bought a new tank and found my old cleaner was not strong enough to stay attached while cleaning. I have a 1/2 inch thick glass tank and this has no problem staying on and does a great job cleaning. A little expensive but worth it!
Yes, I would recommend this product to my friends.

I feel that the Piranha float for my acrylic aquarium is average at best. For the price I thought it would do a much better job at cleaning off the algea than the magna floats. It does not. I still have to go in with my arm and clean the walls of the fishtank with good old elbow grease. I would save some money and go with the less expensive magnets.
I would not recommend this product to my friends.

Very Nice Product

Finally broke down and got one. It is similar to the large Mag-Float in size and funtion, however it is not a big white eyesore on the inside and outside of the tank. It works well at removing most of the green stuff on the glass in a couple swipes, but some of the more stubborn stuff will either require more scrubbing or taking out the razor on a stick method. The wood side is nicely done and is more pleasing to the eye than the before mentioned. So if you want to keep the tank looking good while looking good in the process this is your toy!
Yes, I would recommend this product to my friends.

Strong yet Expensive

Even though it is considerably cheaper than the Magnavore, M-2ER, the Piranha seems pretty expensive when compared to my old Magna-float. However, the Piranha is a VERY strong magnet - perhaps too strong on my 3/8" glass as the magnet stutters a bit instead of gliding over the glass. Perhaps this will ease with time. Using the Piranha with the supplied Acrylic pad helps a bit since it separates the magnets slightly. Most importantly, the Pirahna does clean much better than my old float, perhaps due to the size of the pads and the strength of the magnet. One swipe is often all it takes to wipe an entire section of glass clean, not the repeated back-and-forth that I was used to. Included are one set of replacement pads and the acrylic pad (thin filter floss pad), which is a nice touch. Quality product. I deducted 1/2 star because it is so expensive ($30 would be ideal), and 1/2 star because mine seems to stutter a bit too much. Otherwise, I think the Piranha is an excellent product.
Yes, I would recommend this product to my friends.
