Unsatisfactory
Frustrating by GEORGE

Comments: I bought (4) Sure Flow kits to modify my MJ1200s. It seemed like a great concept. However, even after two defective white 2100 gph impellers were replaced by Algae Free, the mods still chattered and shook violently when the pump is turned on. (No, I do not use it on a wave machine.) Apparently all that vibration has now revealed another issue with the Sure Flow 1600. I have had two of them break at the "ball", causing the powerhead to dangle from the powercord. The first fell off when the pump wasn't running,so no harm done. Last night, a second one broke with the pump running, creating a sandstorm and rockslide in my 180G SPS reef tank. A horrible mess. I'm pulling them all out of all my tanks.
I would not recommend this product to my friends.

Comments: Fantastic mod for dramatically increasing the flow. Just watch out, the higher flow put more stress on the suction cups holding the pump to the glass. I replaced that bracket with one which secures the pump with magnets.
Yes, I would recommend this product to my friends.

Comments: The product works great for increasing flow of my maxijet. However, the directional control (friction operated) doesn't work so well. It tends to slip, drop down and point to the bottom of the tank.
Yes, I would recommend this product to my friends.

Comments: I was very skeptical about the claims and about the reviews posted. i figured it would improve my flow a little bit and thought it would be a cheap looking ad-on. ! ! ! ! W O W ! ! ! ! Was i way off or what? these things are freakishly amazing. i have a 130gl display & had 4 mj 1200 on the back wall. i bought two upgrades thinking if they helped i would buy 2 more. well if i ever get another aquarium to put the other 2 in i will buy some more. i took 2 of the mj's out. 2 modified with large prop is almost too much. DONT HESITATE TO BUY THIS PRODUCT YOU WILL BE VERY HAPPY & AMAZED AT THE DIFFERENCE IN FLOW.
Yes, I would recommend this product to my friends.

Comments: Excellent product! I will be buying another here real soon. Because of this powerhead upgrade, I went and put it on a timer system w/the rest of my powerheads. Will be replacing the Korialia's that I have left with another Maximod.4200gph in a 4' long tank WOW!
Yes, I would recommend this product to my friends.

Good Flow - Poor Quality by JOHN O.
Experience Level: Intermediate

Comments: I have 3 in my main tank and they were running fine until 3 to 4 months of operation. On the first kit, one of the plastic arms broke and the powerhead fell to the bottom of the tank. On the other 2 kits, the end of the impeller shaft broke off. To my surprise, the shafts are not 100% stainless steel. There was clear evidence of rust. This could easily be 5 stars if the kits were of better quality.
I would not recommend this product to my friends.
