Unsatisfactory

Good skimmer, Bad Pump by COLE SMITH

Comments: Construction is great, size is perfect, but the pump used on the Mini-G is terrible. It's loud and I had to replace one after only a month. I would not recommend to anyone due to the initial price of the skimmer and latter price of replacement pump. I would not recommend this product to my friends.

Comments: This is an excellent skimmer. Needle wheel pump makes an insane amount of bubbles and started skimming almost immediatly. Unfortunately, the pump is extremely loud. I'm on the fence with this one. Great price and works well vs. obnoxious. Yes, I would recommend this product to my friends.

Comments: THIS SKIMMER IS A PIECE OF JUNK DONT WASTE YOUR MONEY I HAVE CHANGED 3 PUMPS ALL NEW AND THEY ALL MAKE SO MUCH NOISE WE CANT EVEN GET TO SLEEP AND THE TANK IS DOWNSTAIRS.THE PUMP STOPS AND WILL NOT RUN HAVE TO TAKE IT OUT OF SUMP TAKE APART AND STILL WONT WORK.ITS THE WORST SKIMMER I HAVE CAME ACROSS.DONT WASTE YOU MONEY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I would not recommend this product to my friends.

Comments: performs great after changing pump. returned first skimmer,it would stop and run, second skimmer did the same thing,checked the pump and it would stop after getting hot. called the company found they were having trouble with the pumps and they would exchange the pump. Yes, I would recommend this product to my friends.

Comments: I had this skimmer running on a custom 60 gal nano. It dumps tons of micro bubbles into the tank. In order to run this skimmer you need to make sure that you have plenty of baffles in your fuge or sump. Even with 4 baffles bubbles were finding their way into the display. I think the pump is too large for the skimmer body. Otherwise it is a quality built product that fits into a small space. If you have more space go with a larger ASM, I have them on my larger tanks with no problems so I think it is just this model that needs some refining. Yes, I would recommend this product to my friends.
