Comments: Use correctly for best results. Rinse in fresh water, fill slowly to eliminate bubbles. Tap before you read. I have had this hydrometer for 15 years and test everyday. I consistently get results that have been confirmed with other arm reading devices. Refraction is best...however this one is an easy to use, suitable for daily use tool. Yes, I would recommend this product to my friends.

Comments: I bought this hydrometer, and at first had problems with getting inconsistent and high readings. The trick is learning how to get the water in without bubbles sticking to the pointer. If you slowly lower it into the water with the semicircular part facing down (i.e. long flat side on top), then rotate it into the vertical position while underwater, then gently take it out, it comes out bubble free and quite accurate (I found it consistently reading 0.001 lower than a refractometer). So for the money, it is great, unfortunately it is not operator error proof. Yes, I would recommend this product to my friends.

Comments: Right from the first time I used it,,it is constantly reading high,,,compared to 3 other units ,,and an electronic unit,,,,I can't trust it....oh well ,,live and learn,,,,Laurence Schaeffer I would not recommend this product to my friends.

Comments: I bought this hydrometer after melting my old one. Oops! I am not impressed. I get a different reading every time. I'm going back to a different style. I would not recommend this product to my friends.

Comments: No problem with this easy to use plastic hydrometer! Follow directions and rinse in ro/or tap w/out salt before and after use! Yes, I would recommend this product to my friends.
