Eclipse3 Retrofit

I found this was very easy to install. I found that the 65 watt light puts out quite a bit of heat - and the plastic lens of the Eclipse gets very hot to the touch. I added two small fans to the hood that I picked up at Radio Shack and had to drill several holes for venelation on the top of the hood - this made the installation a bit more complicated. The fans are on a seperate power supply and run off the same timer as the light. This light really makes a big difference. It basically doubled the amount of light in the tank
Yes, I would recommend this product to my friends.

I purchased the retrofit for an Eclipse 1. However, I soon found out that the 24" retrofit was designed for the Eclipse 3. I'm sure it would work wonderfully on that model. As for me, I had to cut holes in the side of the hood. Actually, I'm still very happy. At 65W, 10,000k, and 2 bulbs, you can't find much more power than that in such a small package with a power compact.
Yes, I would recommend this product to my friends.

Once you get it installed it actually great! Runs a little hot but still great! I have a 29gal rectangular marineland glass tank with the black plastic top that comes with it. The holes in the reflector didn't line up so I need to drill two holes. The supplied nuts were too big for the supplied bolts. So a trip to the hardware store, a few cents later plus the holes and it was finally installed. Not too much extra work, I've heard worse! Other than that it's still fairly easy to install.
Yes, I would recommend this product to my friends.

Enough light for coral, but I had to cut an access in the side of the cover for the end to stick out. Great product though.

Worked great, worth the money, easy to install. Makes the tank a lot brighter. 50/50 bulb OK for reef. 8800K better for freshwater planted tank.
Yes, I would recommend this product to my friends.
