Rotating water deflector with highly efficient aerobic filter available in 3 different sizes. The Hydor BIOFLO is a rotating water deflector with a sponge attached for aerobic biological filtration. The BIOFLO aerobic filtration works to reduce ammonia and nitrite naturally without the use of chemicals being added to the aquarium. The deflector rotates 360 degrees driven by the water flow of the filter being used, so no additional power source is required. The rotating water flow creates a natural and pleasant wave effect which is beneficial to live plants and reef inhabitants and leads to increased oxygenation. The sponge also works to capture unpleasant surface film. Adaptors are included which allow the BIOFLO to be used with most aquarium filter and water pump applications. The BIOFLO works best when submerged at a 2/3 level. Excessive flow rates can damage the unit and are not covered by warranty. For freshwater or marine aquariums. Ideal for use with canister filters. Features: The Small BIOFLO is capable of removing 1.0 (+-.1) mg/hr of ammonia from the aquarium. Applicable, with proper adaptors, to the outlet of any pump or filter. Removes ammonia, nitrites and surface deposits from the aquarium water with the rotating filter system. Creates a beneficial wave effect which moves plants and invertebrates. Customer Reviews Write a review 1 of 1 people found the following review helpful: Average Good product for low GPH flow by Brad Experience Level: Intermediate Posted on 3/22/2008 Comments: Works well to change the flow pattern of the water but this device can only handle up to 300gph, this does not appear to be disclosed in the description on the website but when I was attempting to use it on my 600GPH coming back into my tank from my sump, I could tell it cut the flow in half.
