Comments: We all cringe when the little white spots or cotton film appears on any of your aquarium inhabitants. Quaranteen of the individuals may save them, but the tank is probably contaminated and the others are to become sick too. The older treatments of choice typically contained copper and/or toxic chemicals that some sensitive fish will succome to whether sick or not...especially loaches and other scaleless species.
