Comments:
I got 2 units which did not work, poor instructions, motor not powerful enough to move the water up, very noisy a waste of $600 and many hours of trying to set this up.
I would not recommend this product to my friends.

I waited a year to write this review and I've had my share of trials and tribulations with this product. Here's a list of do's and don'ts for this product. DO...make sure you can get it out without destroying half of your rockwork! It needs to be serviced every now and then, so plan for it. However, the design is very simple with minimal moving parts, and servicing it is very easy. DON'T...get this product without the optional metal drive pin if you run Kalkwasser. The plastic pin gets eaten fairly quickly if you dose alot of Kalkwasser! DON'T...Get angry if it is noisy, but you will have to adjust it till it's quiet. This unit truly needs to be "tuned". If you tune it right it WILL be very quiet. Once I finally took it apart I figured out how to make it quiet. The adjustment for up and down shaft movement is very finite and will take a little work sometimes. DO...Call the folks who make it for advice. They are VERY helpful and will get you any needed parts very quickly. They can help you correctly tune it aswell. DON'T...buy this unit if you plan on sticking it under a glass top. I made mine work, but the process was not pretty. DON'T...stack heavy rockwork on the unit as it can stall the flap inside. You will also have to move that big piece of rockwork every time you need to service the unit (see #1 DO). Overall, once I figured out how to service it and dialed it in correctly I was, and am, very happy with the unit. The water movement is VERY good in my 180G with just one unit in the center and a few small power heads in the corners. The challenges of this unit are far outweighed by the sheer simplicity and servicability of this product. Have patience, it's worth it. I would love to see a few different sizes to work with different tank depths, and it's a little ugly. Those problems ignored it's a great and functional concept. Remember folks, we are all still waiting for the perfect wavemaker.
Yes, I would recommend this product to my friends.

I have both a corner unit and a center unit in my 75 gal. reef tank. The units I use alternately throughout the day. They keep the fish happy, and clean the gravel with the wave action.
Yes, I would recommend this product to my friends.

Did numerous hours of research. Agree with others regarding the unsightliness initially. Manf. was kind enough to make 2 custom corner units for my 130. I rotate them on timers and simultaneously during peak of the day. Once system got regulated, no continuos problems. Really moves the water. You do sacrafice some space but with a larger tank, its worth the effort.
Yes, I would recommend this product to my friends.
