Comments: I've had the aquarium running for two days now, it's cool that you can set it up right out the box all you need is some water and a thermometer. So far it's running well, no problems with the fans or broken bulbs. The bio balls can be taken out to create a refugium or place LR instead. Would deffinately reccomend this to a friend. Very eye appealing. The only reason I give it 4.5 is because it's only run for two days and they didn't include a net or thermometer

Comments: Pros- Tank is easy to set up. has great access to pumps, filters, and the main tank. Lighting is bright and good for most soft corals, fish, and some Large polyp stony's. Circulation can be modified with the spout easily. In general the pump produces good current. Cons- Only one protein skimmer can accompany this tank. You cannot upgrade the lighting, thermometer is not included and must be purchased separately. It was difficult to find a good thermometer which fit in the back tank. My lights went in the first 2 weeks of cycling, customer service was slow in response. If you are hoping to have a great Stony coral tank, this is not the system for you. If you want a ton of mushrooms, zoas, and other softies this is a great tank for you.

Not good for Saltwater

Comments: I purchased a Biocube back in July, and let me tell you this tank is total garbage. The first 3 weeks everything was running good and since then its been nothing but troubles. The first things to go was the fans at first it was a low humming noise, and overtime such a loud grinding noise that I would have to turn off the lights so I could hear my TV. People say this tank works great for saltwater and I have done nothing but dump money trying to improve my tank but that's due to the poor amount of light it outputs. This tank would be a great freshwater tank excellent filtration just for people out looking for a reef tank unless you want headaches and a money pit stay clear for saltwater.

Comments: I've had my Biocube 8 now for about 9 months. I have mushrooms, a variety of LPS corals, leathers, and and anemone with a paired clown, and a goby. It provides enough light to keep most LPS corals, shrooms, and leathers however not enough for SPS corals. It's a great beginner, intermediate, or expert tank!

oceanic biocube 8

Comments: Ive had the biocube running for about a week now. For the size i think its a well thought out unit with the integrated filtration and compact flourecent lighting fixture. The only complaint i have is the stock pump is a little noisy cause it vibrates against the side of the filtration chamber. However thats easily fixed by wrapping the pump in a piece of polyfilter which greatly reduced the noise. The only other thing i could complain about if anything is not being able to put a protein skimmer on the unit. But overall these are minor issues and the pluses greatly outweight the cons with this compact little aquarium. If you dont have the space or the money for a larger unit the biocube 8 is the perfect desktop aquarium.

Comments: I received my first BioCube rougly 2.5 weeks ago, but it was damaged due to shipping. Marine Depot was quick to send a replacement, which showed up just short of a week later. Initial build quality is decent. Definitely not top grade components, but pretty good for the price. The overall look of the tank is nice, although somewhat "cartoonish" in the room. This tank does not go well with classy looking furniture, IMO. Other than that, everything went well. One of my biggest gripes is that the hood doesn't have hinges on it; to work in the tank you either have to work thru the feeding hole, or remove the hood. This makes it difficult to do your initial aquascaping because you're working in a dark tank with no lights. Check out any of the forums to find mods to make this tank better.
