ATO systems are very important on saltwater aquariums and can give you more success, and time to enjoy your tank. Aquamedic's Auto Top Off System Pro is a well thought out, plug and play design that incorporates every aspect of a safe and reliable ATO system.

  • Water resistant controller
  • Optical water level sensors
  • Backup level sensor
  • Empty reservoir sensor
  • Dry-run protection
  • Audible and visible alarms
  • Low voltage

ATO systems are easily one of the most important pieces of equipment on a saltwater aquarium. By keeping your tanks water level steady you will also benefit from a constant salinity, not to mention the daily task of adding water to the aquarium or sump will be removed.

Aqua Medic's Auto Top Off System Pro is a well thought out, fail-safe design that uses multiple sensors to monitor the fluid level of your aquarium, and also warns you when your top off reservoir is getting low. The ATO Pro utilizes an optical sensor as the main level sensor to continuously monitor the water level and has a backup sensor that goes above the optical sensor. The entire ATO system will shut the system down if water ever gets too high and triggers the backup sensor.

Product Questions

What is minimum water depth in sump required for this system
Question by: Chris on Jun 3, 2017, 5:27 AM
The optical sensor simply needs to make contact with the water, so there really is not set water depth required. The water level sensor has about 3' of adjustment on the bracket, with the minimum height from rim at about 6", and the maximum at about extension at about 9". The maximum extension would be with one of the mounting screws removed, but we found the bracket to still be sufficiently secure with just 1 screw in this position.

Happy reefing!

Hi! I was just wondering if this ATO could be mounted in a display tank, as I have no sump at the moment. The attachments for the sensors seem to be very far down in the pictures.
Question by: Henry on Jan 24, 2017, 5:10 AM
Great question! The sensor is adjustable and can be flipped upside down to be higher in the water column. Putting an ATO in the display can be done, but the surface agitation could cause constant fluctuations of your ATO pump turning off and on. :-)
